LED lighting, more economical in power consumption and provides more light. The Canbus system if it is programmed for halogen will illuminate a fault light on the dashboard if the resistance of one or more lights is not correct. Not everything can be programmed to LED, there is a reason why Volkswagen itself did not supply it in LED, so don’t put in aftermarket lights if you don’t want any malfunctions. If there is really something wrong, for example a light in an outdoor lighting unit is broken, you will not notice this and this may result in a fine. In addition, there is no point in helping the Canbus system run amok. VW supplies original solutions for indoor lighting, both interior and loading space, which are available in the webshop.
Be sure to stay away from the wiring harness and do not tamper with it, as this could result in a short circuit and even cause a fire.
If you still want to add LED lighting, buy and install an accessory battery for all kinds of aftermarket purposes to connect and relieve the starting battery of the starter battery and bypass the Canbus system. You can then simply install and use LED strips for the door panels, dashboard, foot lighting, you name it, without the car causing any problems. You can also connect such an extra battery to a music system, Airride or other applications without the starter battery being discharged, provided that the extra battery is connected correctly.
